Radio Minerva uses the Streamit STL solution2-9-2010

The oldest local radio station of Antwerp, Radio Minerva, use a second support transmitter at the Belgium coast with the Streamit Studio Transmitter Link solution.

Radio Minerva from Antwerp has 60.000 listeners daily, mainly senior citizens of Antwerpen and offers crooners and evergreen to it’s listeners. A lot of their listeners spend their summers at the Belgium coast, so in July 2010 Radio Minerva acquired a frequency at Wenduine – Blankenberge.

To link the studio to the second transmitter, TVV Sound, official dealer of Streamit solutions and products for Belgium, provided the Streamit STL solution to Radio Minerva ensuring they got a reliable and low-cost IP-audio link. Radio Minerva is now able to reach their listeners in Blankenberge.

The Streamit STL solution uses audio over IP and is specifically developed for broadcasters and radio stations. It is perfectly suited to transmit programs to FM transmitters, cable head-ends or satellite uplinks or it can be used as a return channel to remotely monitor the transmitted signal.

The STL solution, built on standard internet technology, consists of the Streamit SAS250, a professional internet radio transmitter and the Streamit SIR150 a professional internet radio receiver, which can also be used independently from each other. Both the transmitter and receiver have XLR connectors for high-quality balanced audio input/output.
